According to God’s Word, she clothes herself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Pastor Marion Holloway is a woman after God’s own heart. God has endowed her with the gift of being a prayer warrior and intercessor. The security of God’s guidance in her life has allowed her to carry her own load with energy and confidence as First Lady. She is a woman who inclines her ear to wisdom and applies her heart to understanding and insight into the Word of God.

Marion was born in Blanch, North Carolina, a rural community in Caswell County.

She spent her childhood on the farm belonging to her family since the Reconstruction period. Her parents were the late Andrew and Matilda Stephens Taylor. She joined High Rock Baptist at an early age, where following the example, of her father, she developed a love for God’s Word. After completing high school, she attended North Carolina Central University in Durham where she received a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Library Science.

For over 35 years Marion worked as a school library Media Specialist. She was a National Board Certified Teacher and mentor. As a volunteer for the International Baccalaureate Organization, she was a workshop and facilitated training sessions for librarians from IB schools in the United States and British Colombia. During her long career as an educator, she was selected as Teacher of the year at Cooper Middle School and received recognition for outstanding collaborative and innovative teaching.

Retirement has allowed her to focus on God’s calling for this season of her life. She preached her initial sermon and was licensed to preach in 2012. After retirement she has received a Certificate in Biblical Studies from Northeastern Regional Bible College, a Masters in Christian Counseling and currently completing research for Doctor of Religious Studies, concentrating in Biblical Counseling from Trinity College of the Bible.

As First Lady Emerita, she embraced her calling to support her husband, particularly in communicating his vision for their ministry. She serves as the Pastor of Women at Friendship Chapel, leading the Women’s Ministry (Sister-to-Sister) and the GriefShare ministry, with a deep passion for guiding women in their Christian spiritual growth through all life circumstances. Alongside her husband, she is dedicated to encouraging youth to grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually, becoming disciples for Christ. Together, they are committed to strengthening marriages through the Word of God and bringing the Church into the community, especially through Hope House, a nonprofit ministry.

Married to Dr. Enoch E. Holloway, Pastor of Friendship Chapel Baptist Church they have four adult children: Sharon (Les); Enoch, Jr. (Valeria); Jenelle (Jason); Yorel (Drew), and eight grandchildren: Jaron, Shayla, Enoch III (Trey), Jacob, Camden, Nicholas, Ava and Ashton.

Her favorite scripture is: In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path (Proverbs 3:6).
